The work of Spanish born London artist Santiago Alcon is inspired by his experience of everyday life, events and their associated emotions. Different mark-making materials, colour and light combine to create a visual diary of personal moments in time as images on glass and canvas.
This versatile group of colourful and confident paintings show sensuality on canvas and fluidity on glass. They provide an intimate glimpse into the artist’s passion for paint. “I wanted to experiment with emotional connectivity and portraiture” says Alcon “Is there a difference between portraits influenced by personal relationship and those derived from more anonymous imagery. Can an independent eye tell the difference?”
